Reporting

There are a range of reporting requirements that apply to many different company sizes and structures, depending upon industry, energy usage and other criteria. Following are a selection of some of the more common reporting frameworks; speak to us if you require assistance completing your reporting requirements, or are uncertain about what you may need to report:

• NABERS Ratings & Energy Efficiency Assessment +

  NABERS - the National Australian Built Environment Rating System - is a national initiative managed by the NSW Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water.

  It is a performance-based rating system for existing buildings. NABERS rates a building on the basis of its measured operational impacts on the environment, and provides a simple indication of how well you are managing these environmental impacts compared with your peers and neighbours.

  The Commercial Building Disclosure scheme (CBD scheme) will require a NABERS Energy rating to be disclosed when office space greater than 2000sqm is offered for lease or sale.

• (BEEC) Building Energy Efficiency Certificate +

  From the 1st of November 2011 BEECs will need to be disclosed. The certificates are valid for 12 months, must be publicly accessible on the online Building Energy Efficiency Register.

• National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting +

  The National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act 2007 (the NGER Act) introduced a national framework for the reporting and dissemination of information about greenhouse gas emissions, greenhouse gas projects, and energy use and production of corporations.

• Energy Efficiency Opportunities +

  The Australian Government's Energy Efficiency Opportunities program encourages large energy-using businesses to improve their energy efficiency. It does this by requiring businesses to identify, evaluate and report publicly on cost effective energy savings opportunities.
